I’m totally down with Calgary’s Stalwart Sons. Great band, one of a few from that town currently swimming against a stream of tired effluence, and affluence. Yeah I said it, you heard me I said it. But seriously, there’s something in their jams that would appeal to a fan of great Canadian bands like the Hip or the Cons. Not that they sound anything like either band, but there is a similar honesty and humility reflected in their presence that warms my heart.
